I'm loving the new Spring Has Sprung Papers from Funky Hand - available here

Flowers die cut using TH Tattered Floral die and an adhesive pearl added to the centre.

Don't forget that you must use at least 1 Funky Hand product on your project in order to qualify for the fab prize on offer. But there is a Funky Freebie backing paper to download from the Funky Hand website www.funkyhand.com to help you if you don't have any Funky Hand stash yet.

You still have plenty of time to link up your entry with Mr Linky below as the challenge runs until 14 April

Amanda will be popping by in a couple of days with some more inspiration for you.

Spring Set

It's my turn (Ruth) to hopefully provide some inspiration for this months Get Funky! challenge! The theme is

Spring Celebrations

And I've used papers from Retro Fun download - it is a wordbook download but I've used the additional papers that come with the collection for my creation. The butterflies are from the Flutterby Flowers Digi Stamp download and I've printed them directly onto the Retro Fun papers.

A Martha Stewart punch, Cuttlebug alphabet set, card candy and a fab sketch from Kathy and my creations are complete!

Good luck with the challenge this month and don't forget that you MUST use a Funky Hand product in your creation - a freebie for the month that fits with the challenge is always available. Closing date for entries is midnight GMT 14 April.

Celebrating Spring & Mothers!

Hello there!  Jenny here!  I'm just popping in to share my 'Celebrating Spring' make with you.  It was Mother's Day here in the UK yesterday so I thought I'd share the card I made for my mum!

I've used the fabulous Funky Freebie as the focus of my card - you can get your hands on it here!  I've combined the paper with some lilac chipboard letters from my stash, all layered onto Kraft card.  I just rounded the outside corners and added some gems to finish!

I do hope you've been enjoying this month's challenge so far. If you're yet to play along please remember our one and only rule - use at least one Funky Hand product in your creation.  You can find all the other details on how to enter in the challenge launch post, written by Kathy, here!

Lou will be up next with some more Spring inspiration for you so please pop back here on 23rd March!

Stay Funky!

Celebrating Spring

Hi there, Kathy here today with the new Funky Fifteenth challenge from Funky Hand
It's great that the sun is shining and the birds are singing as I'm writing this message because I've chosen
Spring Celebrations
as our theme for this month.
This weekend here in the UK is Mothering Sunday, and Easter is just around the corner - but maybe you have birthdays and anniversaries during the Spring months to make things for - or let's face it - just celebrating the end of Winter and the arrival of Spring is cause enough to feel chirpy and get creative.
You can make or decorate anything you like....Easter Baskets, Bookmarks, Cards, Wall-hangings....anything goes as long as you are celebrating Spring.
Please don't forget that
YOU MUST, MUST. MUST USE A FUNKY HAND PRODUCT TO ENTER
- it's the only rule we have around here
Don't worry if you don't have any Funky Hand Stash (yet), as there's always a special one-month-only Funky Freebie to be found HERE, which you can use to join in and get creative with us

You have until the 14th of April to enter and be in with a chance of winning a fab Funky Hand download of your choice.
When you've got your project ready to share, just
add you link below

Here's my own project for this month

I can't decide whether to keep this as a card, or add a loop to the reverse and make it into a hanging for my wall!

 Notes:
*I printed the verse onto my backing paper, leaving enough space around the wording to add the frame over the top
*I joined strips of paper together to make a piece long enough to create the paper frill and a scoring board to make the score lines.  Mine is an Imperial one and the scores are made at alternate inch and half-inch distances, thus at
1", 1.5", 2.5", 3", 4", 4.5" etc
Once the scores are done the pleats take shape almost by themselves.  I use a length of tape to hold them in position then adhere to the card.
*The frame is raised on small pieces of chipboard
*The faux brads are made from scraps of paper, adhered to cereal packet chipboard - I use any suitable sized circle from my Cuttlebug die collection to cut them - in this case it's the centre of a flower shape.

Materials:
Funky Hand CD Craft the Year Away - I've used papers from the Marching On and April Fool collections
Matching shades of Seam Binding to make a layered bow
Organza flower with pearl centre
Lemon Ice Stickles
Tools:
Spellbinders dies, Cuttlebug die to make the faux brads
Hand-cut coiled flowers
Corner-rounder punch

I hope you like this and will feel inspired by our Spring theme to join in with us this month - don't forget to use that Funky Hand stash though or you won't have the chance of winning the prize
Remember to pop back and visit every few days as there'll be new projects from DT members appearing here over the whole month
Happy Crafting

Deb's Flutterby Flying High

Good morning. Today it's my (Deb's) turn to share my DT project for

ALLISON'S
FLYING HIGH CHALLENGE

I have used one of the scrummy flutterbys  from

FLUTTERBY FLOWERS DIGI DOWNLOAD  available here

The advantage of digi images is that you can make them any size you want - so I printed 1 large one and 1 smaller one so that I could layer them.
I 'coloured' the larger one with 3 different glitters and the smaller one just with Glamour Dust.

The strip of Design Paper is from the

HEARTS AND FLOWERS collection  - available here

mat and layered onto co-ordinating cardstock with the edge punched using Martha Stewart doily lace border punch.

The sentiment is from the CD-Rom HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY
cut from one of the DPs from the WINTER BIRTHDAY Collection

Don't forget that you need to use at least 1 Funky Hand product in order to qualify for the prize on offer and just in case you haven't got any Funky Hand products yet Anice has made another fabulous
Funky 15th Freebie
Free craft backing papers to download for card making and scrapbooking
 available here

Please add your entry with Mr Linky below.
Have a fabulous day.

Would you like to fly....

in my beautiful balloon?.......

Hello everyone it's Kathy here today with my project for Allison's high flying challenge!

The only rule we have here at Get Funky is that you must use at least ONE Funky Hand product on your creation - there's plenty to choose from: papers, stamps, digital images and template designs to name a few
You can even join in if you don't own any Funky Hand stash (yet) by using the Funky Freebie that Anice makes especially to fot in with each month's challenge
Find this month's Funky Freebie  paper by clicking the link or going to the website www.funkyhand.com and looking in the downloads section.
Here's my card
 Materials:
All other papers from Happy, Happy Birthday CD
Black card

Using the workspace on the Papercraft Factory Happy, Happy Birthday CD I resized the papers for the balloons to fit 4 designs on one sheet of A4.
I printed the Happy Birthday greetings design on part of a second sheet, then used the remainder to print the Funky Freebie clouds design.
The balloon shapes were cut using my Craft Robo
The baskets are cut with 2 sizes of square punches, then I trimmed a tiny piece of each corner to get a nicer shape
The balloon on the right is a pop out - to make the mechanism, you need to use a strip of card and fold it rather like the "sleeve" of a matchbox. Glue one side to the back of the balloon and the facing side to the card.
Once dry you can squash it flat for posting.
And now, a bonus card (hehe)
I still had some paper left over after I'd finished this card, so I made another one, this time using the Coloured Balloons digital image
also from the Happy, Happy Birthday CD
I've used the new March sketch from The Sketch File Blog for the layout

 Materials:
All other papers and Image from Happy, Happy Birthday CD
Sentiment was added below the image using the Workspace then
printed out in one go

Black and white Bakers Twine

I hope you like the projects you've seen so far for Allison's challenge and you'll be joining in with us this month, there's still plenty of time to make and submit your own creation.
Don't forget you MUST include at least ONE Funky Hand Product to qualify for our prize

Happy Crafting

Kite in the Sky, flying high!

Hello everyone Anice here with my contribution to this months challenge inspiration.  Our lovely Allison set us the challenge this month of creating a card, or any other craft item, that has a Flying theme.

The only rule we have here at Get Funky is that you use at least ONE Funky Hand product, backing paper, stamp etc on your creation.  I even make it really easy if you don't have any Funky Hand stash yet as I give you a Funky Freebie backing paper each month that you can use. You'll find it by clicking the link or going to my website www.funkyhand.com and looking in the downloads section.

Anyway, here's the card I came up with..

As you can see I went for a kite flying in the sky.  The sky backing paper is this months Funky Freebie so grab it now it will only be available until 14th March.

I used a paper from the Funky Hand download I Heart You for the body of the kite.  I printed the backing paper it onto card and then cut out the kite shape.  I then scored from each corner to give it more dimension.  I couldn't leave it there though, as usual!, so I doodled triangles on the kite using a black Sakura glaze pen.

Once that was completed I started preparing the kites tail which I made using 22 gauge black covered wire.  It's always fun messing about with wire shaping it with your hands into the exact shape you want.  Once I'd got the tail shape I wanted I decided that it needed some decoration as it looked too empty.  I tied little pieces of pink rick rack at various places along the wire and then added some great white ribbon that had chunks of ribbon sticking off it.  Adding these decorations made it easy to attach the wire to the card without it showing.

To attach the kite to the card I used foam pads and used the same foam pads cut in half to attach the rick rack and so the wire to the card.

I hope this card has given you a bit of inspiration and now all you need to do is have a go yourself.

We love to see your creations and visit your blogs so join in, add you card to Mr linky below and have the chance of winning any Funky Hand download that you want.  You have until the 14th March to enter this months challenge and grab that Funky Freebie so.. Get Crafting!
